Matt Jones

Director

Matt formed EAD in 2003 after working for consultancy firms in the UK and overseas. He has worked on a number of high-profile projects in the past, ranging from Thames-side development in London to the Olympics sites in Sydney, Australia. Matt has a sound understanding of development and the planning process and has undertaken work on both brownfield and greenfield sites.

Matt has an extensive background in ecological impact assessment and ecological design. He has produced several ‘Biodiversity’ chapters for Environmental Statements and provided ecological supervision during construction. He also possesses a variety of survey skills and holds a number of English Nature protected species survey licences.

In addition to ecological impact assessment, Matt also has expertise in EIA, notably for river-related projects e.g. flood defence schemes. He has been the catalyst behind award-winning flood scheme designs and has provided guidance on river-restoration projects.

Matt is a Chartered Environmentalist and a Full Member of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management. He is also a member of the British Ecological Society, the Freshwater Biological Association, The Mammal Society and the River Restoration Centre.
